Welcome on this database dedicated on microbial siderophores. You are free to use this tool and to add information which will be accessible to other people. To do so, you need to register.

This database allow direct link between siderophores (name and structure) with their producing microorganisms. All the information refer to bibliographic information which are accessible if you are registered. No articles are available on this web site.

You can look for siderophores from different point of view. First you can access directly to the list of siderophores which allow you to access all information available on one specific siderophore. You are also able to see the list of microorganisms present in the database link to pages overviewing all the information.

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to let you know that I have made a test that can be used for detection of siderophores either in cell culture or in other biological fluids.The test has ready-to-use reagents,takes a couple of minutes to set up and will give you a result in 15 minutes.The test can be run in micortitre plates but also has potential for application on auto-analyzers, although we have not set this up on any system yet. However where you may have a lot of sample to analyze, it is feasible to run this test on a high though put analyzer.The test come available in a kit format with sufficient reagents for 100 tests, either for finding out if Siderophore is present (qualitiative applications) , or for determination of the amount of siderophore generated (quantitiatve application). A reference standard is provided in the kits for this.

We also use the test very successfully for assessing conjugation efficiency of siderophores to carrier proteins. In our case we used it for preparation of immunogens and for conjugation to other carrier materials.

The Website is now able to calculate the exact mass for each siderophores added in the database.

more than just exact mass, he gives you also the main adduct that are encountered using LC-ESI-MS which are : [M+H]+, [M-2H+Fe]+ and [M-H]-.

If you have an unidentified siderophore it is possible to look into the database for identification and see directly which microorganism are known to produce this molecule.

A search engine will arrive soon to make easier the research in the database.

I have moved to the latest version of ChemDoodleWeb 4.3.0 which is much more efficient in drawing structures. This version is much more compatible with web browser.

It should increase structure visibility and now hydrogens are drown on the molecules when necessary.
